Moroccan Ghassoul Clay
Mined in Morocco's Atlas Mountains, ghassoul (also known as rhassoul clay or Moroccan lava clay) has been used in Moroccan hammams for generations. The name is traditionally linked to the Arabic word "ghasala," meaning "to wash" — fitting for a clay that's been part of Moroccan cleansing rituals for centuries. Naturally rich in minerals such as silica and magnesium, it transforms into a smooth, creamy paste when mixed with water, rose water, or argan oil, helping to absorb excess oil and impurities while leaving skin feeling soft and refreshed.
Best value: Complete the full ritual with the Kessa + Moroccan Black Soap Ritual Bundle, and pair with Moroccan Argan Oil to finish.

The Moroccan hammam ritual
In Morocco, ghassoul is a traditional part of the hammam experience. After warming and cleansing the skin, the clay is mixed into a soft paste and applied to the body, face, or hair, then left for a few minutes before rinsing away. For the full Beldi&Co ritual: cleanse with Moroccan Black Soap, exfoliate with the Kessa glove, mask with ghassoul clay, then finish with Argan Oil.
How to use
For the face
Mix 1–2 teaspoons of clay with warm water or rose water into a smooth paste. Apply a thin layer to clean skin, avoiding the eyes and lips. Leave for 5–10 minutes, then rinse before it fully dries.
For the body
Mix with warm water until creamy. Apply over damp skin after showering or after using Moroccan Black Soap. Leave for 5–10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
For hair and scalp
Mix with warm water or aloe vera water into a loose paste. Apply to the scalp and hair, focusing on oily roots or buildup. Leave for 5–10 minutes, then rinse very well. Follow with conditioner or a little argan oil if needed.

Caution
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid inhaling the dry powder. Patch test before first use. Do not use on broken or irritated skin; discontinue if irritation occurs. Clay masks can be drying if left on too long or used too often — we suggest limiting use to around 1–2 times per week, especially for dry or sensitive skin.
