The hammam is a ritual of steam, cleansing, and exfoliation practiced across Morocco for centuries — a moment set aside for slow, deliberate self-care.
The traditional two-step ritual
Step one — Cleanse. Warm Moroccan Black Soap is massaged into damp skin and left to soften for a few minutes, helping prepare the skin for what follows.
Step two — Exfoliate. The Kessa glove, a traditional woven mitt, is used in gentle circular motions to buff away dry, flaky skin and support a smoother-feeling result.
Together, these two steps make up the full ritual — available as the Kessa + Moroccan Black Soap Ritual Bundle, or individually as the Kessa Exfoliating Glove and Moroccan Black Soap.
Most people practice the ritual 1–2 times per week as part of their self-care routine.
